Portable Shower Range
Six families of portable and handheld showers, each pictured in our own photographs. Use the shortcuts to jump straight to the style that suits your trip, garden or bathroom.

Rechargeable pump showers
These units sit in or beside a water container and push water up through the hose to the handset. The examples in our photos feature on-unit screens and push-button controls, with accessories such as hooks, suction cups and mesh carry bags shown alongside.
They suit people who want a steady spray without hanging a bag overhead — handy at a campsite, on a boat deck or in the back of a van.
Worth checking
- How the unit is charged and which cable is supplied
- Whether the hose length suits your container and standing height
- How the handset hangs or mounts when you need both hands
- What is included in the box versus shown for illustration

Compact pump shower kits
A compact kit pairs a small pump body with a separate handheld head and a flexible hose. The kit pictured includes a hook, a handset holder, a suction cup and a USB cable, giving several ways to position the spray.
The smaller footprint makes this style easy to store in a crate, a cupboard or a car boot until the next outing.
Worth checking
- The type of water container the intake is designed for
- Which mounting options are provided
- How easy the pump is to rinse and dry after use

Camp hose & handset sets
Hose-and-handset sets keep things simple: a length of tubing, a spray head and a way to switch the flow on and off. They are often paired with a raised water bag or a container, letting gravity or an external pump do the work.
The on-handle switch shown on the grey set lets you pause the water while soaping up, which helps make a limited supply last longer.
Worth checking
- The connection type at the inlet end
- Whether the handset has an on/off or flow switch
- How the hose coils up for transport

Handheld heads & slide rails
Indoors, the handheld shower head is the portable shower’s closest relative. Mounted on a slide rail, it can be lifted, angled and repositioned in seconds — useful for rinsing children, pets, tiles or the shower itself.
Our photos show finishes ranging from bright chrome to matte black, along with features such as a soap ring and an overhead rain head.
Worth checking
- Rail length and how the bracket adjusts
- Finish that matches your existing fittings
- Spray styles available on the handset face

Heritage & bathtub handsets
Classic telephone-style and bronze handsets bring a portable spray to freestanding and roll-top baths. They make hair rinsing and tub cleaning much easier than filling a jug, while keeping a traditional look.
These pieces show how a handheld head can be as much about style as practicality.
Worth checking
- Compatibility with your existing bath mixer
- Hose length for reaching across the tub
- Care advice for the chosen finish

Open-air rain heads
For gardens, pool areas and outdoor bathing spaces, an open-air rain head creates a relaxed, falling-water feel. Fixed to a post, a pergola or a beam, it turns an ordinary corner of the garden into a place to cool down.
Outdoor heads are often fed from a garden supply or a raised tank, making them a natural partner to the portable kits elsewhere in this range.
Worth checking
- How the head will be supported and fed
- Drainage around the shower area
- Protection from frost when not in use
The feeling we’re after
A steady, gentle flow that rinses shampoo away and leaves you feeling refreshed. Whether the water comes from a mains supply, a container and pump, or a raised bag, that moment under the spray is what a good shower is about.

- Your water sourceBucket, jerry can, tank or garden tap — the source shapes which style makes sense.
- Where it will hangThink about a hook, branch, door frame, rail or suction mount at a comfortable height.
- Power and chargingFor pump units, plan how you will recharge between uses while travelling.
- Storage between tripsA bag or case keeps the hose and handset together and helps parts dry out.
- Water temperatureCheck the temperature of any warmed water by hand before showering.
- Leave no traceOutdoors, use biodegradable soap and keep wash water away from streams and lakes.
